Chapter 0682
Suzy glanced at Allen and added, “If anything comes up, call me.”
“Got it!” Allen replied quickly.
Hearing Suzy finally agree to rest, Allen felt a wave of relief If she pushed herself any further, she might actually collapse.
Once Suzy left to rest, Dylan and Allen didn’t waste any time and headed straight back to the study.
It wasn’t as simple as just tying up loose ends.
Although they had temporarily overpowered their opponent, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t make a comeback. Both of them stayed on high alert.
After more than half an hour of effort, Dylan finally pressed the confirmation key, and Allen broke into a grin. It’s done!”
Watching the files on the screen slowly restore, Allen’s smile grew wider.
He raised an eyebrow at Dylan and said, “When Boss wakes up and sees we actually pulled this off, what do you think her reaction will be?”
Dylan, however, remained cautious. “It’s too early to call it a success.”
The files were still in the process of being recovered, and the final outcome was uncertain.
Allen rolled his eyes.
“Dylan, let me tell you, your constant pessimism is something you really need to work on. No matter the situation, you always assume the worst. Can’t you think positively for once?

“Take last time, for example. Boss was clearly ready to reconcile with you, but you overthought everything. And what happened?
“If you’d seized that chance, who knows? You two might already be married by now. If you were quick enough, maybe she really would be having your kid!
“But now? She just has a stomachache, and you jump straight to thinking she’s pregnant.”
Dylan hadn’t intended to continue this topic, but since Allen brought it up…
“I seem to recall that Hillside Villa has surveillance cameras.”
Allen squinted suspiciously. “What are you planning to do?”
“Why are you so tense? I just want to check what time Suzy came back that night,” Dylan said, his voice calm but firm.
“Or maybe it wasn’t her who left my hospital room that night, but someone else entirely…”
Allen sighed and pulled out his phone.
“You really don’t give up until you hit a dead end, huh? Fine. Hillside Villa used to have surveillance, but after Charlotte and Claude tore it apart during their feud, the system was dismantled.
“However,” Allen added, scrolling through his messages.
“I do have a text from Boss that night when she left the hospital. She said her car broke down and asked me to

send someone to pick her up.”
Dylan checked the timestamp on the text and compared it with the hospital’s surveillance logs of Suzy leaving.
The timelines matched perfectly. Suzy hadn’t been lying.
Everything pointed to the same conclusion–Suzy really had arranged for another woman to be there that night. Dylan couldn’t help but wonder why he still clung to hope.
Seeing Dylan’s pained expression, Allen put away his phone and sighed.
“Dylan, we’ve known each other for a long time. I used to think Suzy was better off without you. But now, I can see you’re someone she could rely on. The thing is…”
Allen hesitated before continuing, “You don’t really understand Boss. She’s someone who doesn’t change her decisions, no matter the circumstances. Once she’s made up her mind, that’s it.
“She’s already made exceptions for you before, but you didn’t appreciate them. So, let me give you some advice- don’t hold on to something that won’t happen. Because there won’t be any results.”
Dylan opened his mouth to respond, but before he could speak, a notification chimed from the computer.
The files had been successfully recovered.
Both of them immediately turned their attention to the screens, all thoughts of their conversation forgotten.
